Basic Life Support and Management of Anaphylaxis course has been designed to provide the knowledge and skills to manage casualties with anaphylaxis.

Anaphylaxis is a potentially life threatening condition and prompt action in its recognition and management is essential to preserve life.

This course provides learners with the knowledge and appropriate skills to manage casualties and ultimately if required to perform effective basic life support until emergency assistance can arrive.

Course aim

The course provides learners with the knowledge and skills to manage a casualty with anaphylaxis until further assistance from the emergency services can be obtained.

Course outcomes

  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Know how to recognise a casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Be able to manage a casualty with anaphylaxis.
